A Letter to My Daughter’s Kindergarten Teacher

Dear Mrs. Aldorasi

I don’t know you and you don’t know me, but on the 8th of September 2015 you become one of the most important people in my life. You are the one. The one who I’ve entrusted to take care of my girl in my absence. The one who I’ve tasked with teaching her things that I cannot. The one who will make an indelible mark on her little soul that will forever shape her perspective of learning.

Just a few words about our little princess; Emma Veronica Edward was born 10 October 2011 in Ajax, Ontario, the daughter of Jennifer Rocha and Matthew Edward.
Emma comes from a loving family; she has 2 older brothers Joshua (19), Jace (13) and 1 younger sister Mila (2).

I cannot begin to tell you how excited Emma and I are that we get to begin her formal education experience with you. I have had two opportunities to observe you, one at the kindergarten orientation and one in the classroom, and I can see that you teach with such a great love for your students.  It’s going to be a great year.  I understand that you will have a classroom full of beautiful children just like mine but I need you to know that Emma is one of the most important people in my life.  Emma is a little shy at first, but as she gets to know you she will start to open up.  And before you know it she will be herself.  She is also very sensitive and can become easily overwhelmed by her feelings.  I can sit here and carry on but I want you to get to know her.

Emma comes from a daycare background; she’s started Bayfair Daycare at the age of 10 months, so she is very familiar with a daily routine.  I have no doubt that she will transition into your daily routine without any confusions.

These are the things we ask of you as I place my most precious gift in your hands:
Love Her
Encourage Her
Teach Kindness and Respect

You are investing in the future of my child, and for that I am forever grateful.
Love Emma’s Mom

Jennifer

You Only Get One "First Day of School"

It' September 8, 2015, back to school. But some of us aren't sending our kids back to school -- we're sending them off to school for the first time.  Little Miss Emma, my princess who is actually 3 years old and doesn’t even resemble a baby any more.  You started junior kindergarten today.

I / We as in you little miss Emma are so ready.

You only had one requested; mommy can I take the bus? I granted your wish but only because you had Jace with you this morning.

After we arrived at the school the first thing you said to me was "mommy the bus ride was so awesome"  The look on your face was priceless.
